You trained. But nothing happened.

01

No clear earning path

You finish training with no clear way to convert your skills into income. You learn — then wait.

02

No verified credibility

A certificate alone means nothing to employers. There is no independent proof you can actually do the work.

03

No first contract

Everyone wants experience before giving it. Without that first paid piece of work, you stay stuck.

04

No talent marketplace

African omics talent is real — but there is no platform making it visible to the world.

The problem is not your ability. The problem is that no system existed to convert your training into verified, paid work. Until now.

A system built for real outcomes.

Step 01

Apply & get filtered

Not everyone is accepted. We screen for biology or research background to protect quality.

Step 02

Train for 6 weeks

Task-based learning aligned to real contract work — not theory for theory's sake.

Step 03

Get verified by OmicsPath

Independent assessment places you into a verified talent layer — L1 through L4.

Step 04

Top performers get paid

Selected talents receive real paid contracts — research, analysis, facilitation, data work.

Step 05

Build your portfolio

Every contract you complete becomes verified proof on your OmicsPath talent profile.

Two tracks. One program.

By Week 3, you are placed into the track that best matches your strengths and the type of contract work you will deliver.

Track 01

Bioinformatics Analysis

BLAST, sequence analysis, dataset interpretation, variant identification. Core technical work that research labs and institutions pay for directly. You will produce real analysis outputs from Week 1.

→ Analysis contracts

Track 02

Research & Publication

Literature review, scientific writing, and dataset-backed manuscript preparation. You contribute to real GIMRID research projects and support published academic work — building a credible research portfolio.

→ Research contracts

This is for near-ready people.

Biology graduates

Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics — any life sciences background qualifies.

Medical Lab Scientists

Your lab background is exactly the foundation this program builds on.

MSc and PhD students

Researchers who want to add bioinformatics skills and earn from them during their studies.

Early researchers

Anyone who has done a final year project, used BLAST, or worked with biological datasets before.

Not for complete beginners. If you have no biology, health, or research background at all, this program is not the right fit yet. We filter applicants to protect the quality of every cohort and the integrity of the OmicsPath talent marketplace.

Real paid contract roles. $30 – $300 per contract.

Top performers from Cycle 001 are selected for real paid contracts across these roles through OmicsPath. These are not simulated tasks — they are verified work placements with real deliverables.

Analysis Track

Bioinformatics Analyst

Sequence analysis, BLAST, variant interpretation, and dataset reporting for research teams and institutions.

Analysis Track

Genomics Data Reviewer

Quality check, interpretation, and structured summary of genomic datasets for client-facing reports.

Research Track

Research Writer

Scientific writing, literature review, and contribution to manuscript preparation for GIMRID and external researchers.

Research Track

Publication Contributor

Named contributor on research papers — collecting, processing, and writing up findings for peer-reviewed publication.

Research Track

Research Assistant

Supporting lead researchers on active GIMRID projects — data gathering, summarising literature, and drafting sections.

Support Role

Training Assistant

Assisting Genomac facilitators in delivering program sessions, answering student questions, and marking basic tasks.

Support Role

Cohort Mentor

Guiding and supporting new cycle students — sharing experience, answering questions, and keeping cohort momentum.

Support Role

Data & Project Support

Preparing, cleaning, and organising biological datasets to support ongoing analysis and research pipelines.

Selection is competitive. Not everyone gets a contract. Top performers are chosen based on consistency, output quality, and reliability throughout the 6 weeks. Everyone who completes the program receives a certificate and an OmicsPath verified talent profile.

Week by week.

W1

Week 1 — Foundation

Tools, data types, and real-world context

Everyone starts together. Introduction to FASTA, FASTQ, BLAST, and how bioinformatics work actually looks. First practical tasks assigned immediately.

W2

Week 2 — Skill Exposure

Analysis, writing, data, and teaching tasks

You try all four types of work. This is how your track is identified — not by what you say you want, but by what you naturally do well.

W3

Week 3 — Track Assignment

You are placed into your specialisation track

Track leads assign you based on Week 1–2 performance. Focused, track-specific training begins. Real tasks, real outputs, real standards.

W4

Week 4 — Applied Work

Track-specific deep training and mini-projects

Independent work begins. You produce your first portfolio-grade output — an analysis report, a research write-up, a cleaned dataset, or a teaching session.

W5

Week 5 — Contract Simulation

Real brief. Real deliverable. Real standards.

You receive a contract-style task brief and must deliver a professional output. This is where OmicsPath verifiers see what you can do.

W6

Week 6 — Evaluation + Selection

OmicsPath verification. Top performers selected.

Final project submitted. OmicsPath assessment determines your layer. Top performers are contacted for paid contracts. Everyone receives certificate and talent profile.

Your entry into genomics talent economy.

Applications are reviewed manually. We accept only candidates with a biology or research background. Spots are limited and filled on a first-come, qualified basis.

Frequently asked questions.

No — you do not need to already know bioinformatics. You need a biology, health, or research background and the willingness to learn fast. The program is designed to convert your existing foundation into applied, contract-ready skills.

Yes. $65 is the only fee for the full 6-week program, your OmicsPath profile setup, and your certificate. There are no hidden fees. If you are selected for paid contracts after the program, OmicsPath takes 20% of your contract value — you keep 80%.

No — and we will never pretend it is. Paid contracts go to top performers selected by OmicsPath based on consistency, quality, and the work they produce during the program. Everyone completes the program and gets a certificate. Top performers get contracts. This keeps the system honest and the work real.

The program is delivered online. Live sessions, recorded content, and task submissions. You will be added to a confirmed students group on WhatsApp immediately after payment. Full schedule details are shared before the start date.

OmicsPath is a verified talent marketplace for genomics and bioinformatics professionals. After the program, top performers are uploaded to OmicsPath with verified profiles and layer rankings. Companies, research institutions, and individual researchers use OmicsPath to find and hire African omics talent for contracts and projects.

You receive a specific gap report showing exactly what needs improvement. OmicsPath then recommends the specific Genomac program or module that will close that gap. You can re-apply for the next cycle after completing the recommended improvement. There are no dead ends — only a clear path forward.

Cycle 001 begins approximately 2 weeks after the cohort is confirmed and filled. Applications close when spots are full. Apply early — once the cohort is full, the next opportunity is Cycle 002.
